Does the DirectX error for the Spore Creature Creator Trial Version happen in the retail version as well?

I tried to download the spore creature creator trial eddition and the directx 1002 error happened. I am wondering if the same thing happens to the retail eddition because im thinking of ordering it and i really want to play it, so i dont want to recieve it only to find out that i can't really use it. Could anyone help me? :S

write directx 9.0 in google.com and download it……
